Jim Lockwood, P.E., MSCE
Chief Executive Offer and Chief Technical Officer
Jim Lockwood oversees the company’s current and long-range business goals, continued innovation and technological advancement, and the implementation of Wind Tower Technologies’s projects.
Jim started developing Aero Solutions in 2000 in New York City and incorporated the company in 2002. Today, Aero Solutions is a wireless industry leader, offering customers proprietary and non-proprietary monopole and tower strengthening systems supported by technical, software, custom design-build services. The company has completed over 3,000 projects. Jim is a licensed professional engineer with28-years of experience in design-build, consulting engineering and product development, including 11 years in the wireless industry.
- 1998: Founder/Owner of Comptek Structural Composites, a product development and manufacturer of advanced structural composite materials for industry.
- 1988 to 1998: Principal in J. Muller International (JMI), establishing the firms Chicago and New York City offices. CEO of Egis, Inc., NYC, the US subsidiary of Paris based Groupe Egis.
- 1985 to 1988: Structural Engineer at Figg and Muller Engineers, Tallahassee, FL;
- 1983 to 1985: Structural Engineer at Leonhardt and Andra Consulting Engineers in Germany, Research Engineer at SFB – 64 Lightweight Structures Group at the Tech. Univ. Stuttgart.
Jim has authored technical papers on bridges, towers, and large post-tensioned concrete structures. He was recognized by McGraw Hill’s ENR Magazine as a Top 25 Newsmaker. He graduated from the Univ. of Cincinnati and Univ. of Washington with a BSCE and MSCE degree in civil engineering and was a Research Fellow at the Technical Univ. of Denmark.
Jim enjoys spending time on the slopes and skied the Valle Blanche Glacier in Chamonix, France for six consecutive years when he resided in Europe.
Prior to joining Wind Tower Technologies, Andrew Fowler served as COO of RES Americas. His executive leadership directly contributed to the successful implementation of over 8,500 MW of wind, solar, and energy storage projects, and over 600 miles of overhead and transmission lines globally.
He joined Sir Robert McAlpine Enterprises Led., in 1989 and as a Construction Manager he worked on a number of large construction projects including the British Library, wind and nuclear energy facilities in the U.K. In 1998, Andrew moved to RES Limited’s North American Subsidiary, Renewable Energy Systems America Inc. (RES Americas) and grew with the company becoming the Executive Vice President of Construction and Engineering where he was responsible for leading the construction of the company’s renewable energy projects across North America. In 2011, Andrew was named Chief Operating Officer for RES Americas managing the engineering, construction and operations teams for the company. By growing developing the Company organically and leading the acquisition of complimentary construction companies Andrew led the US Construction business transforming it from primarily Construction Management business to one that now self performs most of its contracts with over 1,000 employees. In 2015, Andrew was given the responsibility to lead the Global Construction Group within RES as the company looked at ways to improve and globalize its business.
Andrew has over 25 years of construction and engineering experience. He holds a B. Eng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Salford University (U.K.).
Mike Hoganson oversees all domestic and global business operations for Wind Tower Technologies(WTT). Prior to joining WTT, Hoganson founded Omnia Partners Ltd., where he provides strategic business consulting, predominantly in general management and operational initiatives, as well as counsels clients on innovation and intellectual property. In addition to his 19 patents, Hoganson works with his clients and employers to create new products and services in robotics, mathematics, crash safety, network operations, spacecraft operations, fire fighting and suppression, civil infrastructure, renewable energy, and materials science.
Hoganson founded his firm, Omnia Partners Ltd. after a successful career in the automotive, aerospace, and healthcare industries. With his deep and broad educational and experiential background, Hoganson has built and managed development, production, and operational
programs for many industry leaders, including: General Motors, Lockheed Martin, United Technologies, General Dynamics, Boeing, Bell Helicopter, Leonardo Helicopters, Airbus,
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, General Electric, Sandia National Labs, Kuka, Swisslog, Fives and numerous companies in the telecommunications space.
In addition to his license as a professional mechanical engineer, Mike holds advanced degrees in materials science, business, finance and information technology. He is a trained Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt. Most recently, he volunteers his time teaching robotics to young, disadvantaged students through the NASA Space Grant and Fellowship program
Chief Financial Officer
Al Lucero joined Wind Tower Technologies in the summer of 2014 as the Director of Finance. In a short time, Al was promoted to CFO. In this executive role, Al is responsible for all facets of accounting and finance.
Prior to joining Wind Tower Technologies, Al commuted to the Texas Panhandle from Denver where he held a similar role for a large industrial construction company that supported the oil and gas industries.
Al is one our most senior experienced professionals, with more than 25 years industry experience, most notably in the construction related fields. Al has also spent some time in the consulting arena where he worked for Arthur Andersen.
Al achieved his undergraduate business degree from the University of Northern Colorado where he also played baseball. Not long ago did he gain his Executive MBA from the University of Denver, which he is most proud of.
When Al is not working, he enjoys traveling with his wife Lisa, exercise and playing golf, and is always up for a summer night out listening to good music with family and friends.
Panos Kiousis, a member of Wind Tower Technologies’s modeling and design team since August of 2014, has been a tenured professor of geotechnical and structural engineering for 30 years.
He has 35 years of experience in the modeling, analysis, and design of integrated nonlinear soil-structure systems under static and dynamic loads.
Panos has also authored more than 80 technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings on finite element methods of analysis, elastoplastic behavior of materials, geotechnical modeling, structural controls, concrete materials, FRP reinforced structures, and dynamic soil-structure interaction.
In his spare time, Panos plays golf, soccer, and basketball, and occasionally fishes and skis.
Prior to working at Wind Tower Technologies, Sina worked at the University of Wyoming for two years as a research assistant and conducted an experimental research about verification of wind turbine tower design code.
As an engineer, Sina is a contributor to the design team for tower instrumentation setups and data analysis projects for wind towers and foundations. He also assists the wind tower design team in building structural calculations on new tower designs.
Sina holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
In his spare time, Sina enjoys hiking and biking in the beautiful Colorado Mountains.
Sihang Wei joined Wind Tower Technologies in summer 2016, he contributes to the tower design, finite-element analysis, and also assists in structural monitoring as well as data analysis of towers and foundations.
Sihang holds a B.S. (Tongji University 2009) in civil engineering, M.S. (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign 2011) in civil engineering and expect to obtain Ph.D. (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) in civil engineering in summer 2017. Sihang has rich experience in laboratory and field experimentations as well as finite-element analysis of structural behavior and condition assessment. Sihang also helps ACI 318 committee to evaluate the proposals of modifying the current shear and torsion division.
Sihang has a broad of interests, including skiing, volleyball, soccer, badminton, and meeting new friends.
Matthew Chase, P.E.
Matt Chase brings five years of wind industry experience and two years of building experience to his position of Director. He is responsible for finite element structural analysis and advanced concrete and steel design for structures and foundations; and is experienced with CAD automation tools.
Before joining the Wind Tower Technologies team, Matt worked at Vestas Technology R&D, Renewable Energy Systems, and Shear Engineering.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys restoring vintage motorcycles, and believe it or not, taking long walks on the beach.
