The Americas

Wind Tower Technologies assembled a uniquely qualified team for Concrete Wind Tower Prototype project in Iowa developed in conjunction with Siemens Energy.

The hub height reaches 115 meters, making it the tallest wind tower in North America. This wind tower prototype is supported by segmental, match-cast reinforced concrete ring walls that are constructed on-site with reusable formwork. The ring segments are lifted and vertically stacked, then post-tension steel cables support the tower. Post-tensioning steel techniques, similar to segmental precast bridge construction, are used to anchor the tower segments to the pedestal base.

The record height of the wind tower allows for higher energy production in many geographical markets in which the new wind turbine is planned to be deployed. The tower system developed by WTT led to the construction of the tallest wind tower built in the United States, independently certified by TuvSud.

EMEA Regions

Wind Tower Technologies LLC (WTT) offers their patented wind tower design throughout the Europe, Middle East, and Asia markets (EMEA). In China, WTT and Jiangsu Golden Ocean (JGO) offer the patented and proven technology for the construction of tall wind towers exceeding 120 meters to the Hub.

The tower system erected in China includes multiple contracts with major Chinese developers of wind energy facilities and 300 towers planned. The towers range from 120m to 140m for 2MW and 3MW turbines, and rotor diameters up to 145m. Today’s operation incorporates four casting yards with 18 overhead cranes.
